Free Website Templates

May 15, 2008 at 12:34 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , , , )

I’ve been trying to find a new template for my website. I don’t want to spend any money so I’ve become an expert at looking up free website templates. A few days ago I decided to redo my site again and start over with new graphics, new templates and some fresh content in addition to the older stuff. I’ve been on google for days now looking up free templates but I finally think I’ve found one. Here are some of the sites I came across that all have free css and/or html templates available to download. Enjoy :)

Muslim women and a swimming pool

    May 14, 2008 at 2:38 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , )

I watched a video that was disturbing to me. The story was about Muslim women and their local swimming pool. Muslim women cannot go swimming when men are present or if others are around. These women asked their local neighborhood swimming pool to start opening early for them so they could go swimming on Sundays. That would have been fine but the request didn’t stop there. They also requested that all the glass windows to the building be completely covered (the entire pool area was surrounded by windows) and that all the employees working at the time had to be female. I honestly think this is going way too far. Think about what they are asking. They want all the men to either be fired or simply not allowed to work because of their sex. They also want employees to make a massive effort to cover all of the windows in the building and then uncover them when the pool actually opens. On top of that the pool would have to spend more money on payroll and have employees working during non-business hours.

The authorities and owner of the pool did not agree to their request. They said the women were free to use the pool any time during normal business hours just like everyone else. They were being treated equally but this was not good enough. The Muslim women started claiming that society does not accept them and they are treated like outcast. Do they really not see that they are the ones separating themselves from the rest of society? They demand to be treated differently than everyone else and if they get it then they are happy and if they don’t then the rest of us are somehow attacking them. This logic does not work. I am glad that not all Muslim women are like this.

    The word Pagan

    May 14, 2008 at 1:31 pm (Paganism, religion, wicca) (, , , , )

    pagan

The word Pagan comes from the Latin word paganus which means rustic or country dweller. The Christians have used the word Pagan to mean anyone who is outside of Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Many pagans use this definition to describe themselves, but why?
Pagan has many meanings and its definition has changed over the years. Today the word Pagan has a new meaning. Times have changed since the word Pagan first emerged and Pagans today practice a form of neo (or new) paganism. This new belief system based on old ways has transformed the word Pagan because now it is much more defined. The Christian definition should not be used amongst Pagans because it only describes what we are not. The definition says nothing of what Pagans really are.
So what are Pagans? Today I think most would agree that a Pagan is someone who is in an earth-based religion, practice or spirituality.

If you look up Pagan online at the Merriam-Webster website this is what is says

    Pagan:

Etymology: Middle English, from Late Latin paganus, from Latin, civilian, country dweller, from pagus country district; akin to Latin pangere to fix — more at pact

    Date: 14th century

1: heathen 1; especially : a follower of a polytheistic religion (as in ancient Rome)

2: one who has little or no religion and who delights in sensual pleasures and material goods : an irreligious or hedonistic person

    3: neo-pagan

A neo-pagan is defined as a person who practices a contemporary form of paganism (such as Wicca). The definition has been changed and no longer just means something broad or negative. I think all Pagans should know what the word really means if they don’t already. I’m sick of the word Pagan being used in a negative way.

    Satan and Wicca

    April 29, 2008 at 2:19 pm (Paganism, religion, wicca, youtube) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

I just saw another stupid video on YouTube claiming to prove that Wicca is somehow related to Satan. This is so ridiculous. Anyone who goes to reliable sources for information will know that Wicca has NOTHING to do with Satan at all. Satan is purely a Christian concept. It is a historical fact that early Christians used Pagan Gods and Goddesses to make them the “evils” of Christianity. This was a move to pursue Pagans to be Christian. Not to save their souls but for more political power over the people.

    Why McCain Backed Down

    April 29, 2008 at 9:20 am (politics) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

When Barack Obama’s minister showed up in the news being racist against whites and hating America, McCain had no problem speaking his mind about the situation. Even though Obama clearly said he wanted nothing more to do with his minister the media, plus Clinton and McCain, were relentless with the story. This is one of the reasons why Obama says Hillary Clinton uses Republican tactics against him. McCain is now being represented by a man that is worse or equal to Obama’s minister. However, McCain wants his support! He says he’s glad to have it.

Why is this so bad? Because Pastor Hagee, McCain’s new supporter, believes that Katrina happened because of sin and God was punishing all of the sinners in New Orleans. He says that they deserved what happened to them. He also preaches that the Roman Catholic church is a “whore” and a cult.

When Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s Preacher, wouldn’t take back or amend his comments on the video Obama said “I don’t want his endorsement“. He said he didn’t want to be associated with him because his views did not match Mr. Wrights. McCain doesn’t say any of this about Hagee though. He just says he can’t control who endorses him and leaves it at that. Which means he doesn’t care to defend the people Hagee has insulted. Hagee tells his church followers to vote for McCain so he can rid the world of sin. Why is this not getting as much attention as it did in Obama’s case?

McCain doesn’t have much to say about his new endorsement. He has also shut up about Obama’s preacher now that this is happening to him. Ironic isn’t it?

    Scientology

    April 28, 2008 at 3:16 pm (Uncategorized) (, , )

From what I have learned about Scientology their “religion” does seem like a cult. However if you tell this to their face they immediately get offended. Its important to point out that they get offended but never explain why they are not a cult. They simply demand you respect them from the start and not question them.
There are many groups, like Anonymous, who are protesting against Scientology. Its crazy how the church has responded to this. Scientology members will tell people that don’t share their beliefs that they are pedophiles and rapist for not being part of their religion. Scientologist are really mean people because they use the fair game policy. It basically allows them to shred any person who doesn’t agree with them. What kind of religion is that? They throw insults, curse and even stalk people. And how is this not a cult?

    Why I hate Hillary Clinton

    April 28, 2008 at 1:38 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

As a woman you would think I would want a female President. I do but I don’t want it to be Hillary Clinton. I cannot stand that woman. Tell me one other position in which a wife can use her husband’s achievements as her own. She talks about all the things Bill Clinton did as if she achieved them. She had no control over the White House or anything else. Yes she was involved some but not nearly as much as she says. I don’t even see why she is still in the race. Obama has won so many more primaries than her. She just keeps hanging on though pretending that 1 of her wins counts as 5 of Obamas. She will be another Bush in the White House…haha..well its true. People won’t respect her just like they don’t respect Bush. New faces and new direction is needed in America. Obama has my vote.
