(poem by: R. A. Melos )

Still your mind,
and still your soul,
heed the words that make you grow,
listen to the winds of the sages,
learn the wisdom of the mages,
handed down to us from the ages.

Time is ours,
but only fleeting,
hear the wings of eternity beating,
soon enough we’ll all be meeting,
and each of us merrily greeting.

The moon will be full,
and round,
and bright.
And we’ll be wisked away,
in the dead of night.
To the place we are meant to be,
to learn and grow,
and maybe see,
a spectre of what we should be.

Time is ours,
frozen, but brief,
allowing us to release our grief,
to open our hearts and minds once more,
and step through the sacred door,
of time and space, and futures past,
to teach us the spells to cast.
So we may once again be free,
to live and love and blessed be.

So still your mind,
and still your soul,
and open your heart,
and set yourself free,
on this Samhain, I challenge thee.
Learn the truth from mages old,
the truth which was foretold.
The time is right, the night is new,
we can learn what not to do.

Warnings from the great beyond,
we’ll heed them or all cry,
for lies can no longer be told,
when you look me in the eye.
I’ve learned a lesson, bold and true,
and now there are but a few,
who understand the depth of change,
and how we all must rearrange,
our thinking and goals,
for times anew,
if the world is to survive,
for me and you.

We’ve got our work cut out for us,
my friend.
And we must not fail,
before the end,
or all will be lost,
and fate will be no more,
and finally the great beyond,
will close the door.

Time and space will exist no more,
my friend,
my familiar,
we must work to prevent war.
Peace must prevail for ten thousand years,
and we must make sure it does.
Our souls eternal bond will hold,
as our bodies grow old.
Fear not the great beyond,
my friend,
for it is a beginning,
not an end.

Our work will continue for eternity,
until everlasting peace shall set us free.

I came across this recently. I loved it and wanted to share this poem with all of you.

This is my own personal code of ethics for my life and work in magick.

1. I will not work magick mindlessly.
2. I will not be dishonest unless it is absolutely necessary.
3. I will not steal unless it is in order to survive.
4. I will not work magick for someone if it goes against my ethics and standards.
5. All life is sacred.
6. I will not manipulate others unless it is in self defense.
7. I will harm none unless I am threatened or a member of my family is threatened.
8. I will not judge others because they are on a different path.
9. I will treat others as I want to be treated.
10. I will help fellow witches to the best of my ability when necessary.
11. I will give back to the Earth and help protect her.
12. I will always be open to communication unless repeated failure occurs and no solution can be made.
13. I will always be loving and compassionate towards animals.
14. The energy I send out will come back into my life.
15. I am responsible for my own actions.

A dream diary is an essential tool of magick. Every dream you have needs to start being recorded. From day one of your practice its vital to record all dreams because it is through dreaming that spiritual messages and higher learning sometimes occur. Over time you will be able to see a pattern to your dreams. Your dreams might be scarier the more stressed you are in your daily life, you might dream of being chased when you’re avoiding something, etc. Dreams are a window into our innerselves. On the nights you don’t remember your dreams you should still write that down. Simply write “I chose not to remember my dreams last night”.

There are three main ways to record your dreams. The first being a journal or notebook, the second methed would be to use a digital voice recorder and the third is using your pc or laptop to keep a digital log of your dreams. However you decide to do this make sure you do it every morning. The longer you are awake the more of your dreams you forget. Try to write in your dream diary as soon as you wake up.

Tip: Before falling asleep at night tell yourself “I will remember my dreams” several times.

I’ve been trying to find an actual purpose for my blog. Amongst the random thoughts I post on here I’d like to write something worthwhile. This is a Pagan blog so obviously paganism is a topic i’ll occassionally write about. I was thinking about the topic of Magick though. Most Pagans practice Magick although the definition of it varies. Every thought that produces an action could be called magick however practioners know its actually much deeper than that.
I’m going to start posting lessons and experiences I’ve had while practicing magick over the years. These are my personal experiences so this blog isn’t meant to be a how-to guide. I can share what I’ve learned but I do not consider myself a teacher or guide. We are all students when it comes to magick. You might find that my methods don’t suit you. If this happens then I hope my blog posts will inspire you to seek out a method that works better for your needs. There is no one way to practice magick.
