I’m disappointed in Comedy Central. When I was watching the second part of South Parks 200th episode called 201 I thought the ending seemed weird. Sure I laughed because I thought Matt and Trey were doing it on purpose. Too much of the ending was bleeped out so that is why originally it seemed in place. But it wasn’t on purpose. Kyle’s speech was supposed to be about why you shouldn’t threaten people with violence to get what you want. Why is that so bad? Comedy Central bleeped out the entire ending of that show. And for what? Because they were threatened by an Islamic terrorist group. They gave in and let the terrorist win. Why can Jesus look at porn and Buddha do cocaine? Why are the Muslims the only ones “safe” from the opinions of their peers? I hope Matt and Trey don’t sign another contract with CC. They should take their show somewhere else like the IFC where they won’t be edited or forced silent on select issues. To be honest, I didn’t think the threat from the Islamic terrorist even needed to be acknowledged. Believe it or not, there are Muslims who LIKE South Park. There are Muslims who don’t mind being ridiculed along with the rest of the world’s religions. Comedy Central let a group of small minded people win. They LET them win.

A Statement from Matt and Trey

“In the 14 years we’ve been doing South Park we have never done a show that we couldn’t stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn’t some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle’s customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn’t mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We’ll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we’ll see what happens to it.”
